Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

Our customer, IAMGOLD Côté Gold Mine, located near Gogama in Ontario, is currently looking for a skilled and experienced Mobile Maintenance Supervisor!

As a key member of the maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mobile equipment used in mining operations. This includes heavy machinery such as trucks, loaders, dozers, and drills. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that equipment downtime is minimized and that all maintenance activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized and that production targets are met.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance during planned downtime.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure that spare parts and consumables are available when needed.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of maintenance personnel.

Working conditions and benefits:

  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off. The work shifts are 12 hours per day and rotation are alternating day and night;
  • Workers will take the bus to the site in Sudbury or Timmins (Expense account for travel between home and the bus stop offered by employer);
  • Room and board provided at the worksite;
  • Tools and work equipment supplied at the site;
  • Overtime (time and a half) for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week, for work performed on Saturday and Sunday as well as on statutory holidays;
  • Group insurance and pension plan;
  • Work clothing allowance

Skills

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Heavy-Duty mechanic or Truck and Coach mechanic;
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanic;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervision role;
  • Experience in the mining industry is an asset;
  • Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment systems and components;
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and techniques;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the mining industry;
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
