Mobile Maintenance Planner

Our customer, IAMGOLD Côté Gold Mine, located near Gogama in Ontario, is currently looking for a Mechanical Planner!

Under the supervision of the General Planner, the Planner will perform the following tasks:

  • Planning and balancing, preventive and corrective maintenance calendar;
  • Balancing Workload by worker;
  • Produce a weekly/monthly/annual schedule of preventive maintenance;
  • Planning of legal certification and training required for the trades used;
  • Optimization of preventive maintenance according to trades, type of machines and movement to minimise impact on Operations;
  • Planning with production teams or equipment users machine availability;
  • Adjust maintenance plan according to production needs and the machine life cycle and duration;
  • Ensure that the required equipment and parts are available for preventive maintenance;
  • Preparation, verification, and estimation of new work orders;
  • Assign work orders by technician.

Skills

Requirements:

  • Combination of a DEP in mechanic AND a minimum of 5 years' experience OR a DEC in mechanical engineering;
  • Experience in planning is an asset;
  • Natural planning, coordination and communication skills;
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills;
  • Adaptability and responsivenes.
  • Being able to work on alternating shifts (day/night);
  • Having worked in the mining industry is an asset.

Working conditions and benefits:

  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off. The work shifts are 12 hours, alternating day and night;
  • Workers will take the bus to the site in Sudbury or Timmins (Expense account for travel between home and the bus stop offered by employer);
  • Room and board provided at the worksite;
  • Tools and work equipment supplied at the site;
  • Overtime (time and a half) for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week, for work performed on Saturday and Sunday as well as on statutory holidays;
  • Group insurance and pension plan;
  • Work clothing allowance
